How Coloring Your Own Christmas Cards Can Make You A Better Person!

Ok, that may have been a SLIGHT exaggeration. But most people strive to be a better version of themselves. We try to love one another and reach out to help those in need. If I can help you (even in the smallest way possible), I feel like I’ve done my job! AND if I can help promote you being a better version of yourself by promoting sending holiday cards, then my work here is done! I mean, Mother Theresa got her start sending Christmas cards too! It’s true.

So be like Mother Theresa! Maybe…

I know sending Christmas cards can be expensive, but I enjoy sending and receiving them every year. I love picking out (or illustrating) our cards each year and I LOVE addressing the envelopes. I know you think I’m crazy - addressing is NEVER peoples’ favorite part, but for the past 10-or-so years I  have been colorfully decorating our Christmas card envelopes. I get SUCH a big kick out of it when I get messages from friends and colleagues when they receive their card in the mail.

And we don’t just throw away all the cards at the end of the holiday season either. I wait until Christmas and the New Year are over because there are always some stragglers (I see you, Julie), then I get the girls to punch a hole in the corner, connect them all with a ring clip, and put a tag on it telling what year they’re from. I also display all of them year-after-year as part of our holiday decor. I LOVE looking back through them and seeing how our friends’ kids have grown, who got married (who’s no longer married), and who we get cards from year-after-year. Some years are more full than others and that’s ok - we all have lives to live… I can ONLY imagine that this year will be pretty slim too. Because 2020. I usually get my stash of cards out around Thanksgiving and put them in a basket either in the library or on the hearth so we can flip through them.

And don’t forget to put your own card in there too… (I didn’t start doing that until a few years ago)... Yours needs to be in there too!

BUT I know not everyone goes to the trouble of sending 150+ Christmas cards like we do. Seriously… our list just keeps growing! That’s where a stash of fun little holiday notecards comes in handy! Did you know I have a whole line of notecards on my website you can color and mail? And what season is coming up? That’s right… Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Year! And this week (the first week of November - if you’re reading this a bit later) is the week I update the Laura Murray Creative online shop with all my holiday designs!

Some of these are sold year-after-year and some are brand new for 2020. Lord knows we need something fun and cute in our lives this year. AMIRIGHT? These are perfect to keep in a drawer to color and send as last minute thank you cards or to attach to a teacher gift or to just send out as a quick note to your relative or friend you haven’t talked to in a while. I know Granny would LOVE a hand-colored Christmas card from the kiddos!

ACTUALLY, there are really a lot of fun things on my website that would be GREAT Christmas gifts! I have a line of handmade journals (blank, lined, or graph paper), notecards, my Amazing States series of coloring books, etc. Why don’t you go check it out - I’d love to help you out with your holiday shopping this year!

Now let’s talk about logistics. The deadline for Christmas ordering from my website is going to be December 18th (but please don’t wait until the last minute… the post office is a bit CRAY the week before Christmas). That way I can ensure your package gets to you in plenty of time to wrap it up and put a cute bow on it! If you want to order notecards to fill out and send, please allow a little bit more time than the date above. I want to make sure you have PLENTY of time to color and fill out your card and get it in the mail to the intended recipient!

Would you like something more custom for your notecards this year? Your name on a fun banner? Your family’s motto? Those orders need to be placed no later than December 1st… but THE EARLIER THE BETTER. I only have a few spots open for custom designed notecards and I don’t want to be rushed trying to crank out your design last minute. Just leave a comment or shoot me an email using the link below for more info on custom orders.

And JUST BECAUSE I love all of my customers (don’t we all need something to celebrate this year?), you can use the coupon code 25OFF2020 for 25% off your entire order - now through Christmas Eve! But keep in mind - if you order after the 18th I can’t guarantee Christmas delivery (unless you’re local to the Auburn/Opelika area).

And don’t forget to check back every day this week for new designs. I will be releasing a few new holiday designs EACH DAY this week (the first week of November 2020, if you’re reading this later).

AND…

Stay tuned for a HUGE announcement in the coming weeks… I’ve got a Cyber Monday sale LIKE NO OTHER coming to you this year.

So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and place your order. Sales like these don’t come around too often!
